4·4 months agoOur boy Rumble, circa 2002

They’re very lovely. Every few years we see what looks like a mother and several kits. This year we’ve seen five if them at once.
He uses his back legs to push away and leaves long scratches. No intent, just panic
He did, and he got it
Sorry to hear about the illness. Our boy has a note that he’s friendly but panics when overhandled.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•How do you effectively backup your high capacity (20+ TB) local NAS?English
3·7 months agoSneakernet crew here too. My work offsite backup is in my backpack. Few times per week I do a sync which takes a few minutes and take it home again. (The sync archives old versions of files and the drive is encrypted.)
We tried several cloud-based solutions and they were all rather expensive or just plain hard to run to completion or both.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Best general ebook reader for Android?English
7·11 months agoI use KOReader on my Android phone, laptop, and Kobo. It’s pretty great. You can sync reading position between the various devices and download books from e.g. Dropbox and Webdav. Available through FDroid and their web site, not Google Play.

9·1 year agoI always ALWAYS have to check separate / separation / separator. I want to put a third e in there so much.
I tried to read your comment to my cat, but I only got a couple paragraphs in when he lifted his head and said, “Excuse me, I’m napping here. Please quiet down.” I’ll try again later
Wish I could say he did. He’s not a mighty hunter 🙂
Granola and Yogurt. Or Yogurt and Granola
I met my boss (for going on 19 years now) when he came in as a substitute teacher at college.
He likes to say “MightyLordJason got an A on my midterm so I offered him a job”
Pretty sure that’s a human in a dog costume … 🙂
“And now, the mews”
Don’t we all (at least we don’t say differently)
The cat doesn’t go there when the glowbox is on and noisy, the clock is brighter in the picture than it is in real life, and the phone isn’t usually there 🙂

Ha, sounds familiar. He loves to chase and run between our legs. We thought about calling him Dash, Hopper, or Trip.
