Although I don’t have any illusions that my website can’t be hacked what I can tell you is that nothing on there is standard. Every single inch of my website is custom made by myself (graphics, code, music, everything) and since its closed off (there’s no posting on it, nor any SQL) I THINK its relatively safe. I do strive to do that, heck it doesn’t even write any cookies. (I did that deliberately since we have the cookie law around here, and I decided to go overboard and not have any cookies on AmigaCam at all, stateless)

I do agree with you though, I mean one can never be too safe.

I was kinda hoping lemmy would work on an Amiga because it doesn’t use any javascript, but sadly it doesn’t due to the “https” it can’t handle that. I just tested it.

As a tiny webmaster myself I am very relieved to hear that. I do however also have the Commodore Amiga compatible version when you go on my site using an Amiga, which is completely without javascript. :) It automatically sends visitors to there when they visit on an Amiga computer.

Quick question (just interested here) I’m pretty new to Linux (for 3 days now if I remember correctly) but if you guys disallow scripts how does that work on sites like my own website? Mine doesn’t run any ads or trackers very conciously because i’m against it (and any type of commercialism, for that matter), however it does use a lot of script just in order to work.

for right now i’m just basically getting a feel for it on an old laptop, but i’m also in the process of fixing another machine that needs a new motherboard and then i want to test it even more extensively on that. I’m pretty confident though that I can get Linux just the way I want it to. (I really love the terminal in Linux) truth be said I’d be surprised if by this time next year I won’t just have all my machines on Linux. You guys inspired me.

as for Windows it seems to just no longer be a priority with Micro$lop. they have all this other stuff going on and Windows comes last in their priorities. it really suits me fine at this point, since the older I get the more Cyberpunk I get (and more anti-corpo) and I’m really liking Linux more and more. I especially love the freedom it offers and to me really I compare it a lot to just flashing a rom on an Android. its all open source, you can install stuff with the terminal just like I do with conda python and so far yeah i’m all for it man. hate to steal a corpo creed here but I’m lovin’ it.

I agree, although I also now get the steam users perspective more. Specially regarding Linux. I’ve popped my Linux cherry today and I must say so far I’m not hating Linux. However I haven’t done any Wine attempts yet. That being said yeah no I won’t ever use Steam or any streaming type thing because I like control, I’m a data hoarder and I always feel that with Piracy I always have front row VIP seats to anything. DLC’s are included, subs are better, everything is better. And in regards to Virii or whatever just use common sense and a virus killer.
