Not necessarily. Also depends on competency of whoever is looking at using your software/investigating and the legacy of the things you described. A whole different scenario if it’s because you forgot to write something in a ticket and someone coming to call for help with docker when you have a docker setup guide they never look at.

“can still be better but priority changed”
The problem is you can also make the villain a manchild whos sick of people not agreeing with him and the internet will call him based

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If someone were to call you a "full stack" developer, would that feel like a complement or an insult?
8·2 years agoI think it depends on the context. Calling me a full stack is an acknowledgement that I can work on every step of the system and usually every part of the system. I don’t consider it to mean equally good.
However if it keeps getting brought up when I am not supposed to be working on those other steps, that signals to me that maybe they are trying to push more work into me that I shouldn’t be do.
I can appreciate that when someone says “Our X Expert”. It definitely feels like more praise and more value.
Probably one of the harder things that I could do. It’s a replacement for TV so I could try and slot in TV but I think it would be frustrating to not have the copious amounts of content

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the best morning habit/routine you were able to adopt?
7·2 years agoI came to post always eating breakfast. I prepare overnight oats and eat it when I wake up and its helped a lot with concentration. There’s definitely something to be said about a lot of marketed greasy or sugary breakfasts
It’s the same as Color balancing. The best solution often depends on the light balance of the room. Nothing stopping you from editing the theme to keep optimize out

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Pros and cons of getting a job at a very small software company? (14 employees)
19·2 years agoClique culture in small companies is pretty common. It might not be boys club but there’s no middle man to protect Devs from those in charge so there’s always going to be pressure to hang out if everyone is or to work overtime. You have to work in that clique culture but you don’t have to always say yes as long as you are friendly about it. The phrase “being firm” has never sat right with me for these as it’s the antithesis of friendliness you can be loose and say no and if it’s brought up again stay loose and continue to say no. You don’t need an excuse but a loose excuse is works well.
Security is obviously always scary but the tech landscape does not really have that anyway. Realistically if the only worry is it’s a small company and everything else is good, take it. If you find that you don’t fit into the small team flow, then you can continue looking in the future.
I do this even when it’s something extremely minor. “Yeah they brushed me as they went past and said sorry but what if it was more then a brush and a stumbled and fell on the road? Some people…”
A day with no plans where I’m not thinking about the end of my days off. You don’t get it with a week off. Every day you have a thought about how many days left but two week on Wednesday. You’ve done what you want the weekend is still far away and you know the next week I’d more time. Bliss, no need to worry about utilising your time off. Just pure impulse.
Yeah, it’s just not really common knowledge to the same style. Seems like most house cat videos are Scottish folds
My brain just went down a rabbit hole of of breeds vs strays and whether it’s fucked or not and how the world would look if people treated cat breeding like they did dog breeding and how things would change.
I had this comment open for like 20 minutes
I dunno, rent is pretty cheap on mars from what I hear…
But even when you don’t remember your dreams you still remember them being there. Maybe this is just me being stupid but I feel like I dream most nights but I may remember like bits of one or two a week and other nights it’s might just be burry colours and a general idea of the mood
Additionally, don’t copy and paste anything until you understand it. If you don’t understand what code golf is being spewed, don’t take the top answer. If you don’t understand any answer, you probably don’t understand the underlying systems well enough and need to re-evaluate what your asking for.
Cursive f is actually way to high the whole point of cursive is to learn to write fast and cursive f is slower. I’m sure a large amount of people aren’t even aware it’s an f ( the middle right two)
Moving jobs I went from 1 meeting a week to multiple a day and all It has done is made me think my new job has no idea what is important priorities shift almost daily due to other meetings that I’m not a part of and nothing gets done properly because we dont have time to refine.
The goal should be to have as few meetings as possible because it means they are unnecessary. If you have a plan for your backlog set, you don’t need to meet up for an hour every week to sort it out
The injury was unrelated to the weights themselves. It was a lack of understanding of how to correctly do lunges. But I appreciate the advice.
Just in case someone else is in the same position. Do not think of it as pushing your knees to 90 degrees. Get in position, loosen your knees and focus on moving your hips down. It’s the same principles as squatting but in a different position
Extremely mixed. Last year my mental health was probably at its lowest after realising how bad my health was (weight and muscle atrophy from becoming a hermit in COVID times). I did a lot of work and I was finally able to go on walks daily without being exhausted and that felt really good. This in turn gave me more energy in the day and that also felt really good.
Also started doing weights. That didn’t feel as good. Making progress was nice but I was basically always in pain or aching, and when I wasn’t, it meant it was time to work out again. After exercising and the muscles were popped, it felt really good but that subsides. And seeing muscles like that start bringing out the body dysmorphia badly. It was the best Ive ever looked and it made me feel awful. Then I injured myself and it got it was even worse.
Tl:Dr light cardio yes, weightlifting not really
