Usually (ime) it’s just another cumfy chair like the one she’s sitting on. Never had a chaise longue, nor have I ever seen one. Maybe 100 years ago, but nowadays it’s a cartoon thing.

The welded metal - it could’ve been a playground. Or somebody built a dome like that for different purposes (I’ve seen a hothouse one, and then people have all sorts of esoteric theories about these shapes). Abandoned in any case, and of course I have no idea where it is.

It could be some sort of Streisand effect brought on by people complaining about “bot accounts” for days/weeks now.
People thinking something like “You scared of trolls? Lol, let’s troll you some more!”

Also, some of those accused seem like very normal people to me who also comment in other communities and do not, in fact, delete their account.

In this context I will always recommend Stanislaw Lem’s “Eden”, although it has little to do with differences in speed.

Reminds me of the idea that intelligence might express itself in ways that we cannot perceive, because it’s so slow. Like Rock trolls taking a year to speak a sentence and a century to have this little conversation. Ents are a little faster I guess.

I’ve never heard any adult saying a dad is fun because they feed their kids fast food. Kids will love it of course (up to a certain point) but they’ll love it from mom, too.

Ouch. Did that once or twice with really important data, resulting in all-night sessions with photorec/testdisk and secondary and tertiary storage. Files restored, but just the directory structure and filenames missing can be a huge downside.

Has been working fine on my laptops for years, across Arch and Debian. Maybe because they’re both ThinkPads.

TBF I have nothing against the hipster look - except for the various beards and 'staches. I tried it: a sculpted beard is a fuckton of work, like a second hairdo basically. It also requires appropriate growth; not all men have it.
