Now anyone can be made mod/admin without their consent . A yes or no option would be much appreciated so someone can’t abuse it and make innocent people mod/admin of troubling instances or communities .

I can’t . I don’t wanna open a git account to make one fucking issue can someone who already has an account do it ? And this /c/ says anything about Lemmy including bug reports so I thought as I already have a Lemmy acc I’d post it here .

I understand. I’m actually surprised the Lemmy code is hosted on Github, I guess at some point they’ll move to codeberg, srchut or a Forgejo instance

We’re waiting for Forgejo to support federation. We definitely want to move away from github, but we want to wait until we’re in a position for that move to be permanent while still making it easy for contributors to open issues and PRs.

I mean I still like their UI the most compared to gitlab and all and can understand why others may like it too (even tho they have began shitfication with log in to see comments) . At some point someone should just steal that and use it for foss its not like Microsoft doesnt steal a ton of shit.

Software making doesn’t need to be social media. Sad are the folks that think everything with an account should be Web 2.0.
