I’m too lazy to give my cat enough exercise. Fortunately she usually takes care of it herself around 3 am. In my experience it’s not the food itself but the recommended portion size that’s overly generous. You have to give a little less, especially if you feed both wet food and dry. And make sure they have access to cat grass and plenty of clean water, placed separate from the food. Some cats like running water, some prefer a wide bowlful.
