11·24 days agoreverse proxy
Wait. Is this really all that nabu casa is doing? Why in the ever loving fuck would anybody agree to that, let alone pay them for it?
Looks like it’s true. They are even leaking all the hostnames in the certificate transparency logs for the bots to scrape. Just when you think you’ve seen it all…
Grabbing the stream from a legit iptv provider and sharing it via P2P… love it. chef’s kiss

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•how to watch less youtube on my tv?English
5·2 months agoYT seems to try and soft reset my suggestions
Ah, I tend to forget the vast majority of the world browses youtube logged in! I only get recommendations based on the last few videos watched that day.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•how to watch less youtube on my tv?
11·2 months agoHow do you find so much content to watch? For me, the worthwile content simply runs out after a while and the recomendation engine just starts to push the uninteresting clickbait videos.
I applaud the initiative (because at least they are actively trying instead of just talking about it), despite the inevitably devastating outcome this will have.
For anyone who would be interested in joining, be aware that not only will you lose everything you send there, the lawyers will strip you bare throughout the decades long legal battles, after what is basically an insurance company you helped to crowdfund goes belly up.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is Buying a Google Pixel with GrapheneOS Pre-Installed Dangerous?
16·3 months agoShort answer: yes.
Long answer: You can use the attestation app bundled with graphene to check the integrity of the system. The catch is, you need another phone with graphene os to do it properly. There is also an online attestation check, but IF the OS is purpusfully infected, you can’t rely on what the app itself says.
If I were you, I’d try to reinstall it. The whole procedure can be done by following the instructions in any chromium based web browser. https://grapheneos.org/install/web

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are there any payment aggregators (Like Paypal for instance) that prioritize user privacy?
2·3 months agoThe financial regulations in EU are draconian. There is no concept of privacy whatsoever.
They took the worst disadvantages of a blockchain and made them a feature.

Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•OpenAI's *Codex* app has 70% GPU usage while it is “thinking” due to tiny useless animation
151·3 months agoThis is pretty normal in the wonderful world of web apps.
The Foundry TTRPG app consumes a 100% of my laptop GPU while the game is paused, because of the spinning icon. Otherwise it hovers around 70%.
That is, if the details are cranked to minimum, and framerate limited to 30fps.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you do when you have a song stuck in your head?English
1·3 months agoI try not to sing along in public as it plays in my head, because it’s usually some obscene or violent death metal, or deliberately edgy rude cover of a popular song.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Why I moved my Plex library to Jellyfin after 14 yearsEnglish
191·4 months agoSomeone breakes in, then moves laterally to your home assistant running frigate to watch you sleep at night. Then uses your residential uplink as a proxy to resell on an open market.
After that, the possibilities are practically endless.

My research indicates that such words usually end up in rape, mass suicide or occasional terrorism.
