In the fediverse since 2017. I mostly talk sports. If something on the internet doesn’t spark joy, mute it.

Do not yell at me simply because I am in front of you and the people responsible for the problems are not. It is extremely unpleasant.

  • I like that you always close with “thanks
    for seeing my work” so:

Thanks for showing your work! It’s so fun to have an active photographer who is very talented actively posting photos of the pnw. It’s easy as someone who lives here to forget how strikingly beautiful our bioregion is, and seeing it again through your lens is a wonderful reminder. I hope you keep it up for a long time (and photograph a Reign-Thorns match).

  • I have 0 patience for people who “don’t want to see that” on fedi. The whole concept behind fedi is to have a single connected web of every social media platform – the design and implementation is specifically intended to make space for literally everyone and everything. If you don’t like encountering something, it is incumbent on you to use the curation tools at your disposal to remove it from your feed – you have no right to try to remove it from fedi altogether.

  • I couldn’t disagree with this sentiment more vehemently

So that in turn, makes it so the only kind of discussions and talk you see is just softball kinds. You know, like discussing sports teams, the weather and vice versa.

Dead internet theory is when everyone is a bot run by a political actor who is yelling about politics, or a bot run by a corporation to deliver ads. Real human beings talk about the weather and sports and their garden and their pets and what they’re making for dinner. I feel the most that I’m on the dead internet when everyone is talking about Big Ideas and Current Events and no-one is saying Go Reign or Look At This Cool Leaf I Found.
