For small updates, I typically don’t reboot. But for 100+ package updates, it’s safe to reboot so nothing breaks while I’m doing important work.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Bet when you first looked at it you thought it was floating
131·3 days agoIt doesn’t look like it’s floating, just photoshopped.
For research purposes, which episode?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You're a villain in Movieland, where every movie is real. What do you do to prove you're the toughest villain in the universe?
5·11 days agoNot being able to die for the next 10 installments of the series.
You know you’re tough when the writers say so.

Linux@lemmy.world•What's the hardest Linux distro you've tried?English
8·11 days agoGentoo. I’ve gotten to stage 3 a few times, but somehow I cannot get past it (Be it a VM issue or a skill issue)
“Durable metal design”

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is a specific part of a video game that made you quit playing that game?
10·22 days agoRDR2: Last mission of the game. Crashed two-thirds through it. Gave up. Fuck that, I’m not redoing that shit.
Sleeping Dogs: After gaining freeroam and a couple main missions (the first stealth one where you’re planting that listening device in a restaurant), got bored of the game. Feels like A worse GTA IV and Yakuza game. IDK I just didn’t vibe with it.
Psychonauts 1: Last level (Circus). If you know, you know. It’s awful.
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy: 100%ed 1 and 2. Gave up on 3 because it got boring and I hated the skateboarding levels.
It seems the trend is when games get boring/repetitive, or some bullshit mechanic/mission/event is involved.
I can’t unsee it now. Fuck you /j
Also, “Advert ise” = “Avert eyes”
What humanity has dubbed “aliens”? No.
Extraterrestrial creatures/other lifeforms outside our galaxy? I don’t know. We don’t have enough data to prove it true or false yet.
Was OP in this post the color blue? What do they have against pink?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What happened that time the power went out at the worst possible moment?
9·23 days agoWorking on a project, and I hadn’t saved for a few hours.
After that I now save after every small addition to my projects.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What if you knew the apocalypse was three days away?
6·24 days agoDepends on the apocalypse.
Nuclear? Get a nice tan in the radiation (or Ideally blast zone).
Zombie or a virus? Probably just die. No way I want to live through a zombie apocalypse and the virus would probably be painful.
I don’t know why anyone would want to live through an apocalypse. It’s bound to be hell.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Gamers of Lemmy, how do you mouse on the couch?
1·25 days agoYou can use a trackball. Not great for FPS games but good enough for casual games.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•[US] When's the last time you saw a car other than red, black, blue, gray, or white on the road?
1·25 days agoI saw an orange car yesterday. I don’t know the model.
I want a car that is painted with only vibrant colors, and different colors for each part of the car. It would look hideous, but at least I would never lose it in a parking lot.
Luck is like a rollercoaster to me: bad luck followed by good luck and vice versa. I’m usually either really lucky/unlucky or barely lucky/unlucky. Never really in the middle.

3·28 days agoA second guy isn’t enough. It would just be a coincidence. A third guy would make it a pattern, and therefore a hypothesis that the meal was poisoned could be formed.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which invention of human technology is your least favourite?
8·29 days agoDigital currency to ‘replace’ physical currency.
Gone are the days of storing physical coins that could increase their value in the future. Instead, we have digital coins with a dog on it and can be lost via hard drives dying.
This also includes items like credit/debit cards, gift cards, and pre-paid cards. A single piece of plastic should hold less value than natural metals like copper and nickel.
Something with actual mass should hold more value than something without mass (data).
